..For my first HugeFrigginArticle (heh heh), I have decided to expose myself as the person who no doubt hundreds of Halo PC gamers absolutely despise. When I'm not playing as GermSex, the not so great but always loyal red or blue teammate, I put on my backstabbing persona. I become.....BETRAYER. If you're not one of my close friends who is reading this and you've seen me playing on your team, chances are I've either killed you, blown up a car you were trying to get away in, or slammed you in the face with my pistol when you crossed my path.
.....................Now, this isn't something I do all the time. When I'm into it, I actually play the game it as it was intended to be played...i.e: I help my teammates with the goal at hand. But every so often, that gets so boring as hell and a lot of the smug ass players needed to get their clocks cleaned. JohnnyFrag-Alot thinks he's so great at pushing keys and moving a mouse, and decides to call anyone he kills a "n00b'. There are a few things I can't stand...and little 12 year old assholes running around pushing buttons and talking down to ANYONE, is right at the top of the list. Real good, dude. Now how'd you like it if one of your own teammates came up behind you and filled your stupid face with pixelated bullets of deciet? I can tell you, you won't like it. You can still call me a n00b, and no doubt you will, but at least I'll feel so good about myself that I'll celebrate by making myself a sandwich. And THAT, my friends, is the greatest gift of all.
..................Now you may be asking yourself, "Say, Germ....how can I hope to be a BETRAYER such as you? Well, you're in luck...because I am about to reveal to you several of my betraying secrets. Get your notepads and pencils out because you're about to learn from the greatest betrayer who ever lived. STEP 1 - Get Halo PC and Install it A pretty straight-foreward step. Go to the store and get Halo PC. It's only like $20 last time I checked. Then install it. STEP 2 - Set your filters to CTF In the Multiplayer server screen, go to filters and change them all to CTF. CTF is pretty much the best way to betray your teammates. STEP 3 - Choosing the right server Now comes the fun part. Picking a server full of people to betray. I sort the servers by how many players there are. Usually at the top of the list is 15/16. THATS where the gold is. Some of the best servers to be in are HaloNTexas1 or 2 and Bungie CTF. They hold the most hardcore players who flip out the second you smack them across the face with your glory rod. STEP 4 - Approach to betraying Now when you enter the server, its important to melee the first person you see. If their suit glows yellow, that means that Team Kills are on and its time for you to go to work. I'll get to servers with team kill on in a moment. But lets talk about the highly likely event that the server has Team Kills off. NO! Don't exit yet! Theres still plenty that can be done. First off, stock up on grenades and find the nearest warthog or ghost and wait for your teammates to try to drive off in one. The second they get close, chuck your grenade and watch the hog fly. Do this 2 or more times when they flip the vehicle over for maximum anger. Said teammate will be so livid, he'll usually come over and unload his weapons on you. It will take him about 12 seconds to realize that you cannot be killed by conventional methods and by that time he'll be so consentrated on killing you that he won't see the enemy hog coming over to run him down. Thats what I call betraying without betraying. NOTE: This type of betraying works a lot better in servers where rocket launchers are the main weapons. Use a fuel rod gun in place of the grenades.
...........Now for servers with team kill on. No holds barred. ladies and gentlefags. Do whatever you want. Betraying is far better then playing the game for real because you can do whatever you want to whoever you want. But I want to give you a few helpful tips. Now once you betray more than 4 times, (less than that if the server admin is hanging around) you get banned from the room. You're banned according to your product key, so theres usually no way around it. Thats why you want to savor every team kill you can. So here's some things to look out for to ensure you get the most out of your betraying experience. First, keep a close eye at your base for teammates that are standing still. That means they are usually away from their computer and won't get pissed off when you kill them. If they don't get pissed off and cry for the admin, then phase two of the betrayal prospect cannot come to pass. When a teammate you betray starts whining, "BAN BETRAYER! HE KEEPS TKing!" or something along those lines, then the rest of your teammates begin to get savvy. Then, you shoot them with whatever gun you have and naturally, they retalliate. They start shooting back at you and YOU LET THEM KILL YOU. Now because of all your betraying, you are going to have to wait a while before you can get back in.
...........This isn't always a horrible thing. Now that everyone is aware that there is a TKer on the lose, they start going after everyone else. It's always fun to watch everyone going after eachother thinking its you. This doesn't always happen, but when it does, its pretty hilarious. So after all the time you have to wait as a penalty for betraying, you're back in the game. Try to find the guy who's already betrayed you and go after him. That way, once he kills you 3 or 4 more times, he's out. You'll see a message saying he quit and he'll get a screen saying the admin has banned him for Team Killing. He'll be so pissed he might kill himself in real life. It's happened before. I read about it in the news paper.
